WASHINGTON, D.C.—Steptoe & Johnson LLP is pleased to announce that Brian J. Fleming has joined the firm’s International Trade and Regulatory Compliance Group as a partner in the Washington, DC office.
Fleming, who has extensive experience counseling companies on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) process and on export controls and economic sanctions matters, will further expand the group’s highly-regarded National Security, CFIUS, and trade controls practices.
Fleming previously served in multiple roles in the National Security Division of the US Department of Justice (DOJ), where he managed DOJ’s review of all CFIUS-related matters and prosecuted export controls and economic sanctions violations.
Fleming earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, and he earned his B.A., cum laude, from Dartmouth College.
