The Oregon Legislature recently passed a bill designed to add “tribal culture value” to the list of considerations when appraising public records for retention to ensure in-depth consideration of the nine federally recognized tribes.

The Adding Native Voices to Public Records Law, House Bill 2112, has been signed by Gov. Tina Kotek and will go into effect Jan. 1.
